Humpback whales bubble net feeding in a synchronized pod. Led by the alpha, the pd dives below a school of herring, blows bubbles to force the fish to the surface and then leap all at once to catch thousands of fish in their mouths. Some herring get away, but the whales are very efficient in straining the herring through their baleens into their stomachs. Inside Passage, Alaska. July 2010.
