Turret Arch Glory
Utah's Red Rock country is rich with beautiful scenes and geographic wonders - enough to spend a lifetime in discovery. Arches National Park offers a quick way to see a representative sampling of natural arches - but by no means all or even a majority of the arches in the area. Utah and Arizona are ground zero for "arch hounds", the people who make a hobby of finding and exploring natural arches...This night image of Turret Arch in Arches National Park was made on a night when cloud cover obscured our deep space target - the Milky Way. The clouds are lit by the lights of Moab, Utah. The arches of Turret Arch were lit by handheld flash with a warming gel I positioned behind the arch. Ted van der Linden manned the remote for the camera and corrected the light's position after each shot.
