Devil Take the Hindmost
Sometimes derided as the "fast food of the wild", a herd of impala takes flight in response to a threat, something they might do a dozen times a day in order to stay safe.
And while there is safety in numbers, it's clear that the tactic maximizes individual odds, and that the principal "devil take the hindmost" applies.
