About "Far to the South"
Everything is connected. Creating images of the natural world helps shape my spiritual understanding of life, along with broadening my skills as a naturalist. The rhythms of outdoor life are primal and fundamental. I find them meditative, inspirational and rejuvenating. Hopefully, my work reflects that to you the viewer. My art revolves around shapes. Geometry, algebra and maybe sometimes even calculus.
As an artist, I strongly believe that art should be emotionally and intellectually accessible, and not require an advanced degree to appreciate. I hope that you revel as I did in the visual treat of nature making some of its best shapes. I’m grateful to share with you some of the Southern Hemisphere forms and contours that made up my summer.
